Wiegand Access Control Reader: What It Is and Why It Matters
If you are building an access control system, you will encounter the word “Wiegand” everywhere. It is the universal language that connects card readers to control panels. The SK-A80STT TTLock Wiegand reader uses this standard protocol.

What Is Wiegand Protocol?
Wiegand is a wiring standard developed in the 1980s. It uses two data lines (DATA0 and DATA1) to transmit card number information from the reader to the control panel. Almost every access control panel on the market understands Wiegand 26-bit or Wiegand 34-bit. This means any Wiegand reader works with any Wiegand panel.

TTLock Bluetooth + Wiegand: The Best of Both Worlds
A standalone keypad works on its own, but it cannot be centrally managed. A Wiegand reader connects to a panel, but it cannot use a smartphone app. The SK-A80STT combines both: TTLock Bluetooth for app-based unlock and e-key management, plus Wiegand output for integration with your existing access control panel.

Aluminum Alloy for Outdoor and Gates
Plastic readers crack in UV sunlight and melt in hot cars. The SK-A80STT has an aluminum alloy housing that survives rain, heat and vandalism. It is built for swing gates, sliding gates, barrier arms and elevator lobbies — the places where plastic readers fail within months.
