What Is Palm Print Recognition?
Palm print recognition scans the unique patterns on your palm — either the surface lines or the internal palm vein structure using near-infrared light. It is non-contact, hygienic and very hard to spoof. You simply wave your palm near the sensor and the door unlocks.
Palm Print vs Fingerprint vs Face Recognition
- Palm print: Non-contact, hygienic, works even with wet hands, very hard to copy. Best for outdoor and shared entrances.
- Fingerprint: Fast and mature, but needs contact and may fail with wet or dirty fingers.
- 3D face: Completely touchless, walk-up convenience, but needs a clear line of sight and may struggle in very dark or bright conditions.
